Empower the Future: Youth-Led Climate and Green Living Initiative in Barbuda.
Our Island, Our Future, Our Responsibility
TeamBUDA Corp is proud to implement the “Empower the Future: Youth-Led Climate and Green Living Initiative in Barbuda,” supported through the GEF Small Grants Programme, implemented by UNDP.
The project empowers young people in Barbuda to become active leaders in protecting their environment and building a cleaner, greener, and more climate-resilient community.
Working with Sir McChesney George Secondary School, Holy Trinity Primary School, the Ministry of Education, the Barbuda Council, and other community partners, the initiative focuses on practical environmental action, including recycling and waste reduction, renewable energy and solar lighting, environmental education, and community engagement.
Students will gain hands-on experience while learning how everyday actions can reduce waste, conserve resources, and protect Barbuda’s natural environment. The project also encourages young people to share what they learn with their families and the wider community, helping environmental responsibility extend beyond the classroom.
Through Empower the Future, TeamBUDA’s goal is not simply to complete a project, but to inspire lasting behavioral change and develop a new generation of environmental leaders.
Building a resilient Barbuda, one youth at a time.
