Team BUDA: Building Self-Sufficiency Through Organic Growing

Team BUDA is committed to empowering individuals in Barbuda with the skills and knowledge needed to live more self-sustainably. A key focus of this work is helping community members learn how to grow their own organic produce—reducing dependence on imported food and strengthening local food security.

Through hands-on workshops and practical training, Team BUDA teaches the fundamentals of organic farming, including soil preparation, composting, seed selection, and water-efficient growing techniques. Participants learn how to cultivate fruits and vegetables in small home gardens as well as larger community plots, making sustainable growing accessible to people of all ages and experience levels.

Beyond gardening skills, the program emphasizes environmental responsibility and long-term resilience. By promoting natural growing methods free from harmful chemicals, Team BUDA supports healthier lifestyles and a cleaner environment.

Ultimately, Team BUDA’s organic growing initiatives aim to create a culture of self-reliance—where individuals are equipped not only to feed themselves, but also to contribute to a stronger, more sustainable Barbuda.
